A Picnic in the Park

One annual membership that we get a LOT of use from is our Vancouver Aquarium membership. We love to be able to explore the deep blue sea right at our finger tips. I remember clearly my trips there as a child and so glad that I can have the same experiences with my own kids.

Today it was all about seeing the new 4D movie, and lucky for me it was Sponge Bob Square Pants. I can't say by any means I am a Sponge Bob fan, in fact the opposite - but the kids REALLY wanted to go, and I promised.

It was fun, not because of Sponge Bob, but because of the 4D. You smelled pickles, popped real bubbles, got splashed and felt the rumble of wheels below you.

Of course, then we needed to go see the animals, beluga's were the main wish today. We actually stayed and watched the show, something I haven't done for years. Braydon was there a couple of weeks ago with one of his camps, and apparently he remembered all the information that he learned back then, as he proudly answered all the questions.
They did warn us that we were in the splash zone and we got fully splashed!! KJ wasn't a fan in the moment, but if you ask her how she got wet today, she will tell you the story with a big smile on her face. I'm just thankful that I listened when she made the suggestion to hide the camera!!

The other promise was a picnic and feed the ducks. Instead of ducks, we met up with some Canadian Geese. Can't say they represent how well loved Canadians are for being friendly - they are mean little buggers. Took the bread (and scared the #$@(*& out of KJ) right out of her hands.
We grabbed their favorite special lunch treats and ate outside in Stanley Park. One day soon I would like to plan a full picnic with the four of use for dinner. Something just right about enjoying a summer picnic.

It was a good day. Outside, enjoying the sunshine - just wish Chris wasn't working. Oh well, he gets to have his adventures with them in two weeks, and I am pretty sure a trip to the Aquarium may be included.

We didn't go to the aquarium when we were there. Just one more thing to add to the list when I come back.
