Tuesday Night Football

Crazy day again at work. I'm tired, and haven't been sleeping that well.  None the less, I ended up bringing work  home because of a timeline (not mine) and I'm  helping out.  So I'm ready to get at it after dinner when Braydon asks if we can play some football.

It's not raining, and it's supposed to snow tomorrow.  This may be the one and only chance we have all week.  So understanding that I can do work a half hour later - we headed out for some Tuesday night football.  This is a summer thing for us, so it was nice to get out and hope that maybe spring will come with April (although....did you see I wrote that it may snow tomorrow).

So Kaylee got a bit more into the game (and continued with the photography thing), and we all had a fun time.  Now...off to the world of excel.

Bicycles and Beautiful Fairies

Not sure why the sun always waits till the last part of the weekend to show up.  While I have no problem with some rain, it's the extra cold temps that have kept me inside.  Cold and wet just don't make for a ton of fun.

Last night the Knibbs came for dinner.  Pizza, some drinks and a hockey game.  The boys were in a off mood, and decided to fight - but ended up again near the end of the night the best of friends.  The good thing is their fights are like sibling fights, and never last long.

What was nice to see was that Kaylee and Rachel really started to play together well.  They built some block towers, but it all really came together when they decided to dress as fairies.  They loved it, and flew all around, taking the time to smile for the camera.  While I doubt that they will be BFFs like the boys, they will share something special.  Maybe like a big / little sister relationship that just don't see each other as much.

When Braydon got his bike last weekend, Kaylee looked at the old smaller bike and said she wanted to give it a go.  So this weekend Chris put the training wheels back on, and Kaylee gave it a go.  She actually was more into this than she is her tricycle - so maybe we are onto something new.

We also got a wee bit of time in the playground.  When you let a three year old take a photo - this is what you get.

But when you just keep taking, this is what I get.

And to give proper credit where credit is due, the top photo was taken by Braydon.  Guess I have some budding photographers in the house.

Nothing Slowing Down

I must be having fun, cuz time keeps going by so quickly.  I think there is lots of time, and all of a sudden we are at the end of March and again I haven't done all that I planned to do.

I am very much looking forward to the fact that once again I will go to weekends off which means that we will have more family time.  The one day off really sucks, and is worse on weekends like this one where Chris is at a baseball clinic on the Saturday.  Oh well.

Hoping that the weather is nice tomorrow, get the kids out for a photo shoot.  The Knibbs may be coming for dinner tomorrow night, which is always fun.  I need to still do a few errands and see if I can fix the leaky bathroom sink or not.  I bought the stuff to fix it, not sure if I should be brave and do it or not.  Hmmm.

The one great thing about this month is I have managed to do a ton of scrapping.  25 Lay Outs!!  For me that is a ton.  It was cuz there was a LOAD this month at skrapnchat and I did all of the challenges.  I set myself a goal of 20 + 5 cards.  I did four cards....so I guess I should do one more.

Next month Baseball and Softball both start, so time will once again become limited.  Guess it keeps us all out of trouble.  I think I'm going to take a rare nap - then tidy the kitchen and get the kids.

Busy Boy Weekend

The weekend really was all about Braydon.  It started early because I took Thursday off since he was on spring break.  The weather cleared for us, so we headed out for a walk.  Well, he decided he wanted to ride his bike - which I got a small giggle from knowing full well that this would be the last ride that bike got from this boy.  His new one would be full of future rides.

We also got to go out after dinner and play some hockey - a family favorite with us.

We baked two cakes and one pan of brownies for the three parties.  The cakes were both decorated by Braydon and Kaylee shared in the smartie cake.  I don't think more smarties could have fit on one cake.

Sunday we went mini golfing with seven kids plus our own two.   I have to say that I was very impressed with the kids.  They were well behaved and the party was a huge success.  The weather gods worked in our favor and we had sunshine and semi warm temps.

After the golf party, my brother came to play.  And he got the typical Uncle gift, a nerf gun.  Now I don't buy guns for my kids (water guns are the exception), but you give a kid a stick and it's a gun.  Give him lego, it's a gun.  Heck, two fingers make a gun.  So - when Rich showed up with this, I gave in.  The rule of only trees / streets / my car as targets is hard and fast.  If he tries to shoot a kid or adult, the gun goes.  He knows it - so he's been careful.  And he had a blast playing with it all afternoon.

So I am about to read a bed time story, and while I am sure that Braydon will fall asleep fast, I'm pretty sure Chris and I will too!

Now I am Six

Hard to believe that my baby is now six years old!  Times has gone by so so quickly, and I love watching him grow.   I love being able to see things through his world, through his eyes.  I love being reminded to slow down and enjoy everything.  From bugs to trees, to the shapes of the clouds.
Today we celebrated with family, all the grandparents and great grandparents.  Chris and I bought him a new bike (and some more bakugons), and as you can see, it was a big hit (of course KJ had to ride hers too)

Not always picture perfect

I take a lot of photos.  I post the good ones.  Not usually these ones.

KJ was grumpy.  Chris wanted to cheer her up.  This was the photo.  This is my life.

I'm the chosen one

I really want to start to get published, only cuz it's a personal goal, not like I plan to make a living or anything.  So when Scenic Route started a monthly challenge, I was in!  My favorite line because it's so bright, cheery and works for boys and girls, I use the papers as often as I can.

This challenge was for Feb, to use their fonts.  I don't have a ton of them, but really like using them because they are clean simple fonts.  This is the LO I submitted and I won!  Myself and four others were chosen for the contest and they are sending me a kit of my choice.  I'm on cloud nine!!

On to #38

Okay, I'm 37.  Guess that makes me late 30's now eh?  A guy friend and I were having lunch at work the other day and I said my age.  He said that he was surprised that I said how old I was.  I asked why and he said most women hide it.  I laughed.  I never really understood that.  However when I asked an employee how old I was....he said "well, you've been here for 20 years....41".  That didn't work in my favor.

So 37.  My biggest accomplishments are my children, and that I am happy.  Not a lot of people can actually say that.  Sure, there are crappy days that make me want to go back to my early 20s - but really I think I will stay here.

Life is stressful.  We don't know if Chris will get laid off, and things seem to always cost more.  But at the end of the day, we all have each other and it's all okay.  Let's be real, a few million dollars would help - but hey....

I was spoiled on my birthday as usual.  Can anyone say scrapbooking stuff?  I am most excited about my sure cuts a lot -which makes my Cricut cut pretty much any font.  Although I doubt I will give up my addiction / love for Thickers!

Okay, 37  years down, on to#38.  I wonder what is in store.
