Laugh and slow down

Okay, we all know that this is not the most flattering photo of me.  Or really of KJ.  But Tuesday nights - it's been girls night.  Chris takes Braydon to soccer and KJ and I usually do something fun.  But I needed to vacuum the stairs, so we weren't going to do crafts till later.

She looked at me and said "Mommy, can we take pictures?"

Of course - who would choose the stairs over that sweet request?  We laughed, and after reading Lisa's post the other day - there is nothing more I would rather do than hang with my daughter.

Our computer takes these pics, and you can do all kinds of funky things with the images.  Both kids have figured out how to do it, and I come to find new images added when I wasn't paying attention.  Fun things to find.

Good to have the camera out

The weather was nice, so I grabbed my camera and forced my family to smile.  Love these pics!

A Day with Mommy

No school for Braydon today, it was a professional day.  KJ had school, but I always feel bad when she has to go and Braydon stays home, so I thought it should be a stay home day for all.  When they jumped in my bed this morning Braydon mentioned that we hadn't been to the Aquarium for a long time (it had been about 7 weeks), so that was that.  Pancakes for breakfast, throw some snacks in a bag and off we went.

Of course, one of our traditions seems be to having a snack in the underwater area....this time with the dolphins.  Not sure why, but I didn't take any pics of the belugas this time.  Odd for me.  Guess I have enough!

The Amazon jungle has this beautiful new bird, the colours are just so much prettier than a crow you find in our forests!

Of course, since Nemo, well you can't go to an Aquarium without looking for one there too!

Now while you think if you asked the kids what their favorite part of the day was, they would say the whales or sharks or turtles or alligators....right? Nope.  First, my favorite part was watching Braydon "share" his money with his little sister so they could make a wish at the fountain.

And of course, the opportunity to get some new photos on a beautiful day.....

But their favorite part, after dropping $125 on a new yearly membership was feeding the ducks OUTSIDE the Aquarium.  It's the whole box vs. the toy.....and once again the box won.  But we all won because it was a good morning out together.  And now I can scrap it this afternoon!!

A BIG milestone!

Look carefully on the bottom of the page, and you will  see that my little girl figured out how to write her name.  Proud me, proud her.

Less teeth, less time

It's been one of those weeks, you know the kind - where so many things need to happen yet time seems to fly faster?  On Friday - Braydon lost his second tooth - have you ever seen a kid so proud to loose teeth????

The mountain has a lot going on this weekend, including Thursday night hosting a torch light parade - which we could easily see from our block.  Pretty cool to watch.

We are also open for 63 hours straight - which means that last night I worked from 7pm to 3am.  But I got to ski at midnight, which was pretty cool.  I'm a bit tired now, as I got up and went for our walk this morning even though I needed more sleep.

Tonight we are heading over to my parents for dinner, to celebrate my Mom's birthday.  Hopefully  next week things will slow down.  Maybe.

Opening New Doors

Ya, so have not been good about posting on here!!  A few things always happen, and I like to blog when there is peace.  Shhh, it's early and the kids have not woken up yet.  But they need to, so this won't be a long post.

We got the Fit Wii, and that is my new goal.  New door, well maybe an older door reopening.  I'm not telling you results, but let's say that my character got "bigger" when it measured me.  Nice.  Nothing like a Mii to tell you you need to loose weight.  A minimum four times a week I will be on that, plus more walking if I can fit it in.  Watching what I eat (no more chocolate, well maybe a piece on V day), and lots more water.  I have to say, the whole Wii system is really really cool - and fun.  Hopefully it will get me doing more.

Having said that, trying to fit it into my life won't be that easy.  I'm painting a mural for a day care, we have a 24 hour weekend at work next weekend (open Fri AM, close Sun PM), functions on Tuesday and Friday night (that won't help with eating well) and trying to hang with the family.  Will be a crazy week I am sure.  But one day at a time right?

Okay, must get children out of bed.  New morning routine, including me on the Wii, actually eating breakfast, and here is a thought - running on time!
