The Anniversary Date Night

Usually we go for dinner - to either the Boathouse or the Keg.  Both I love.  But this year, we decided to dinner in.  With my vacation and his bike - we figured we could still do a nice dinner in, and save a bunch of money.

So, the kids went to my parents and we hung out at home.  Both of us easily could have done our own thing - me scrap, him play poker.  But we knew that wasn't what the night was about.  At 5:30, just as if we were going out - we poured a drink and got dinner ready.  I started with stuffed mushroom caps, but apparently Chris didn't want any.  Then we had salmon stuffed with herbs, cream cheese and shrimp, scallops wrapped in bacon, new potatoes, asparagus and baby carrots. Mmmm.

After dinner, we dug out the crib board.  First game I got skunked.  Then I won the next two games (unusual for me).  He won the final won.

It was a fun night, both of us were in silly moods - and he let me take a ton of pics (unusual for him).  So a night in is just as fun as a night out.  And after seven years of marriage, we still have a great time together.
